Invite-only pilot: sign-ups are limited while we onboard the first users. Ask for an invitation

Download Cockpit

The desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. Install it on the computer you work at – your hosts need nothing, Cockpit prepares them when it connects.

Packages

Cockpit is in an invite-only pilot: the app is available to invited users only. With your invitation you get the download, then sign in with the invited Google account.

Windows

Windows 10 and 11, x64. Local agents run in WSL2.

macOS

Apple Silicon (M-series), macOS 13 or later. Agents can run on your Mac or on a server.

Linux

x64. Debian/Ubuntu package or AppImage; both update themselves.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (x64), macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon (M-series), or a 64-bit Linux desktop. For a Mac with an Intel processor, ask support@cockpitai.dev.
  • To run agents on Windows itself you need WSL2; remote hosts need only SSH and a Linux shell.
  • A Google account with an invitation to the pilot. Every new account starts with a 14-day Pro trial, no card required.

First start on Windows and macOS

The installers are not code-signed with a Windows or Apple developer certificate yet, so the operating system asks you to confirm the first start:

  • Windows: when SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info → Run anyway.
  • macOS: open Cockpit once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.

Updates are protected separately: Cockpit installs only releases signed with its own release key.

Updates

Cockpit checks for new versions by itself and updates with one click. The portable Windows build only announces a new version.

Release notes

Version 0.20.2

  • Claude artifacts: pages published by Claude Code appear as cards in the chat and in a new Artifacts tab of the project, each with the AI account that owns it; the desktop opens them in an Artifact tile signed in to that account, the web in a new browser tab. With the broker listing on, Refresh also brings artifacts created on claude.ai itself.
  • Background tasks: a running Bash command can show its live output (follow, copy, open in Files), on the desktop and in Cockpit Web.
  • Files: HTML files open as a rendered page next to their source, like Markdown, in an isolated frame without scripts or network.
  • New conversation cannot be started twice while a project is opening; Open joins the most recently active agent; the web command palette gets New conversation; notification history entries can be copied.

Version 0.20.1

  • New conversation in a project always starts a fresh agent run, even when another agent of the project is already running; Open and Continue still attach to the running one. In Cockpit Web the start of a project now says why it failed.
  • A background command whose completion the agent lost is closed by Cockpit itself once its output file shows the exit, so the Background tasks panel no longer keeps finished commands running.
  • Cockpit Web names a host after its host document, the same as the desktop, shows a host whose relay is not connected as Not connected with the last connection time, and lists handoff chains again.
  • Cockpit's public website is live at cockpitai.dev with download, pricing and legal pages; the app's licence notice names Mandos s.r.o.

Version 0.20.0

  • Cockpit moved to a new server: cockpitai.dev. The app now talks to it and takes its updates from there. Your account, devices and vault moved along, so you stay signed in.
  • If the new server cannot take your session over, the app asks you to sign in once and keeps your projects, hosts, sessions and secrets. Every host is checked once and its proxy switches to the new server by itself.
  • Paying from the app opens the checkout as a single page and brings you back to a confirmation page afterwards; prices on the plan page come straight from the payment provider.

Version 0.19.5

  • Web: hosts of type This computer and WSL2 with web access on are now reachable from cockpit-web, including their sessions. cockpit-web used to reject their relay as a host of another device.
  • Updates: when a newer release appears while an update is already downloaded and waiting for restart, the app downloads the newer one and replaces the waiting one; clicking the version in the footer checks again. One restart instead of two.

Version 0.19.4

  • Web access (relay) now follows the account plan: with Pro (including the trial) every host – SSH, This computer and WSL2 – is reachable from cockpit-web by default; with Free it is off and the host setting says it requires Pro. A choice you made yourself in the host settings always wins, and a plan change applies to the remaining hosts automatically.
